Usage Guide of Tapo Smart Wireless Camera:
Installation:
- Charge the battery until the LED turns green.
- Download the Tapo app.
- Turn on your CCTV Camera for Home With Mobile Connectivity.
- Follow the guide in the app.
Configuration:
- Open the app, and log in with your TP-Link ID.
- Set up the camera following the instructions in the app.
Maintenance:
- Ensure your router is working properly.
- Make sure your Tapo smart device is receiving a good Wi-Fi signal by checking RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator).
- Update the firmware of your Tapo device.
- Make sure your Tapo app is up to date in the App Store or Google Play.
- Turn off advanced Wi-Fi settings on your router like Band Steering for CCTV Camera for Home With Mobile Connectivity (also called ‘Smart Connect’ or ‘Whole-Home Wi-Fi ‘), Wi-Fi Optimizing or ‘Channel optimization’, etc.

How to fix detection issues with the Tapo C420S2 camera:
- Motion and person detection not working unless the object is close:
Check if the sensitivity is set to high in the Tapo app’s Camera Settings page under Detection & Alerts > Wake-up Sensitivity and Motion Detection/Person Detection.
If possible, move the camera closer to the area that needs to be monitored.
Person Detection not working unless the person is moving quickly:
Check if Person Detection is enabled and that the Sensitivity is set to high in the Tapo app’s Camera Settings page under Detection & Alerts > AI Detection > Person Detection.
